biography
John was born & raised in West Calder, a Scottish village between Edinburgh & Glasgow.
While studying at Edinburgh Napier University,
John discovered his love for travel & took a year out
between each academic year of his Accounting
degree to go meandering.
This led to a variety of jobs in tourism & teaching throughout 5 continents until finally, in 2003,
he realised his dream of becoming an actor, studying as a mature student at the Bristol Old Vic
Theatre School.
Following this, John took various classes in screen
acting at the Actors Centre, London under tutors
such as Charles Harris, Mel Churcher, Noella Smith,
David Penn, Patrick Tucker & Michael Ferguson. He
also studied Meisner Technique with Scott Williams.
During his 2 years in Toronto, John continued his studies with local tutors, including
David Rotenberg at the Pro Actor's Lab.
